"People who are successful have the "now" mindset. People who are unsuccessful have the "later" mindset."
Nothing aggravates me more than "New Year's Resolutions"!
Society teaches us that New Year's Resolutions are positive; you are doing something good and you are excited.
But setting your start date for "later" leaves you stuck in the "later mindset"... cemented in place instead of moving forward.
Benjamin Franklin said, "You may delay, but time will not."
We are always waiting, instead of doing, instead of moving forward for one reason or another.
Napoleon Hill said, "Don't wait. The time will never be just right."
The day it's actually possible for you is the day you say, "I've got a lot going on, but I'm going to do it anyway."
In this video, I am going to cover:
- Why "waiting for the right time" will leave you waiting forever
- Why those who have the "later mindset" are unsuccessful
- AND... the truth about New Year's resolutions and why they are detrimental to your success!
Why New Year's resolutions are a complete joke and by participating in them, you ensure you will fail. I'm going to talk about exactly why that is a loser mentality and how the opposite mentality allowed me to do things like win a $10 million award, become a Wall Street Journal bestseller, and do all the things I ever wanted to do in life. By not going down that very deceptive road of the later mentality. Also, don't forget to subscribe to the channel. If you like videos on business and mindset, let's talk.
All right, everybody. So I'm going to give you a disclaimer to this video. If you don't want to hear the truth, if you don't want to hear the raw real reality of the situation, then get off this video right now, because I'm about to get real real with you. All right.
New Year's resolutions. Think about it. You've gone your entire year and you said," Oh, I didn't get this done. I didn't get that done. I didn't accomplish this. I didn't change this about myself. I didn't make this move well, that's what I'm going to do next year." Okay. So what I'm gonna do right now is show you why this is a fundamental flaw in mindset and why by participating in this, you ensure the fact that you will never accomplish those things, that you will never get those things done. Okay? So this is the concept of now, right?
This is the concept of the now. What is "the now"? I'll tell you what the now is. The now is a concept revolving around one simple thing that if something is important to you, if something is needed, if something is, if it's a goal that you need to get done, that you want, if you truly desire it, there is no better time than the now. When people say, "It's not a good time, next week, next month, next year, new year's resolution" whatever line of complete BS you want to come up with, what you're saying to yourself is tomorrow, not today. It's not important enough for me to do it right now. It's going to be tomorrow. That is because you think that tomorrow is better. You think that next year is better. You think that by promising yourself that on January 1st, you're going to do that thing.
You're going to start that new habit, that all of a sudden that will actually make it a reality. But by delaying it even further, you are participating, in fact, you are cementing your feet deep into that same line of logic that got you to where you were in the first place, and that is a big, fat, nowhere, because you are in a constant state of waiting. You have right here January, you have December. This is the entire year, you decide to wait until this little sliver to actually make a decision and make a change so that you can yet wait again to start it the next year in January. This is a never-ending cycle of complete and utter BS excuses and delays in what you want to accomplish.
Because you don't believe in yourself enough to say, you know what, right now isn't the perfect time. There's a lot going on this, that the other thing I'm going to do it anyway. 'Cause, that's the thing, you know how you know when you actually truly deserve something and when you truly are going to make it happen when you do it when it's not the perfect time because there never is a perfect time. In fact, Napoleon Hill said, "Don't wait. The time will never be just right." Benjamin Franklin said, "You may delay, but time will not". Listen to what I'm saying. If you listen to anything and that is this, there is no perfect time. There is no good time.
People who deserve success, people who become the type of person that can make success happen never wait for the right time because that in itself is an exercise in failure. Telling yourself, "I will wait till January 1st", telling yourself "Now is not the right time", telling yourself that "Tomorrow will be better than it's just not a good time." That right there cements you in the fact that you will never do it. The day it's actually possible for you is the day you say, "You know what? Now is not the right time. It's not a good time. It's not perfect. I got a lot going on, but I'm going to do it anyway." If it is December 20th and you're saying, "You know what? I'm going to quit drinking on January 1st. That's it. I'm going to quit drinking." You've already failed. Do you want to quit drinking? Do it now. Do it right now, because if you really had it in you to do it, it would be important enough for you to do it, right fricking now. People that achieve great things, don't put their success on a schedule, they do it now. Steve Jobs said things may seem like an overnight success, but it takes years to become an overnight success.
It's because the people that succeeded the most started now, they didn't start tomorrow. They didn't start on January 1st. They start now. Jeff Bezos of Amazon. There is a picture, you can find it on the internet. He's in a crappy little office. He's got a banner hung up on the wall with Amazon spray-painted on it. He started when he was much older. There are many of you who are saying, "Oh, you know you know, I'm just, I'm, I'm too old or I'm too young" or whatever. This guy started when he was much older, he literally started from this office with nothing and now he has one of the biggest companies in the world. Jeff Bezos, Steve Jobs, Napoleon Hill, Bill Gates, name, name, name, not a single one of them probably ever said, "Oh, now's not a good time. I'll start next week. I'll start on January 1st." They get in this continuous loop of utter failure, not failing. Meaning you failed at your goal failure, meaning you failed at having the right mindset to begin working on your goal.
So right now, if you have a New Year's resolution, let me give you a perfect example. Let's say, you're saying to yourself, "You know what, Dan I've been watching your YouTube videos for a long time. I really want help with my business. I really want to work with you." Because I hear this all the time, "I really want to work with you".
You see, we just had a guy, we're releasing a student interview on it, signs up to my mastermind, pays $55,000 to be in my mastermind. And yes, that's what it costs. We have a regular coaching program that is a much lower investment, but he signed up to the top tier. My personal coaching comes out to this office, hangs out with me like my top, top, top makes it back in two weeks.
He said, "Dan, I don't think it's a good time because I'm going to buy a house and I really need my capital for the house." I said, "Okay, so let me get this straight. You have the capital now, do you honestly believe I can at least double your income in the next three months? Yes, Okay. Do you think I can raise it by 50% in the next three months? Yes. So you're not going to buy that house for three months. I can raise your income by 50%, at least in the next three months. You believe that, right? Yes. Okay. So then are you bad at math or logic? Because you just told me if you put this in, I can raise it 50%. You're sure about that. In the next 90 days, if you'd work with me personally". He says "yes". I said, "Okay. So then why, if you put 55 in and you get it back before the time that you have to buy the house and you have more money, wouldn't that make more financial sense?" Oh, you're right. And you know what? He had a great mindset. He had the "now" mindset, not the later mindset.
The "now" mindset, people who are successful have the "now" mindset. People who are unsuccessful have the "later" mindset. So you know what he did, he signed up, he wired the money, got on the very first call, I looked at his business, said, Oh, there's your mistake, told them what to do. Two weeks later, he had made the entire investment back.
Now he's up 50% on his revenue. He's climbing even further. He just booked 18 calls for his program with one live. He literally is scheduled to have his best year ever. It's almost the end of the year. And now, you know what he told me now? He says, "Dan if I wouldn't have done that, I would have bought the house I was looking at. But now I don't want that house because I can afford a much better house." That right there is a "now" mentality. Now. Later.
So listen, if you've been fence about working with me or my team, I'm just going to lay it all out here for you. The time is now for two reasons. Number one, it's a tax write-off, everybody's always looking for end of year tax deductions, but they don't realize that coaching and consulting is one of those tax deductions, and numbers two, even more importantly, I'm about to raise my prices again.
So if you're interested in getting in on our Digital Millionaire Coaching program, or maybe you're interested in the mastermind, either one, the time is now I'm going to leave a link below this video. And I'm going to put in that link, you can book a call to talk to my team about working with me. After you've seen this video, ask yourself, do you deserve success now or later? Are you a now or later person? Maybe you're not considering working with me. Maybe it's something else. Maybe you want to lose weight. Maybe you want to quit drinking. Is it now or later?
I lost 20 fricking pounds. And you know what? I could have made that, I did it recently. I could have easily made that my "New Year's resolution" for next year, but I didn't want it later. I wanted it now. So I did it now and now this Christmas, I'm going to be looking dang good, a lot better than Santa Claus. All right. And I am happy about that because I did it now. Not later. All right.
If there's anything that aggravates me more New Year's Resolutions because listen, society programs you to be unsuccessful because if everybody was successful, the economy would collapse. Everything would collapse. Social dynamics would collapse. Why do you think they call it New Year's resolutions? Because they do it to encourage you, to make you feel like you're doing something positive, right? But they know it's negative. They know it's just putting you in that same loop of do nothing later mentality, but you feel like you're a doer. You're not okay. Period. You're either going to do it now or you're never going to do it. Don't wait for next year. Don't wait for January 1st. You are better than that. You are more than that.
You absolutely need to believe in yourself enough to know that no matter what's going on the kids in this and they're coming in from here and you know, there's family coming in and blah, blah, blah viruses and yada, yada yada, we're closing on a house. Guys, I'm closing. I got two houses selling. I'm buying a house. I'm closing on a yacht. I've got two new businesses launching all at the same time. I still have time to count my calories, lose weight, do everything I need to do because I have a "now" mentality. No time will ever be perfect. The only time is now. Believe in yourself enough to know that you can do it now, no matter how unideal the timing is because you can.
If you enjoyed this video, I will see you in the next one. And remember you're better than that. Do it now. See you guys soon, don't forget to subscribe.
