A Coach Without a Coach is a Hypocrite

And the same should go for your business.

Hey, everybody in today's video, I'm going to talk about why you should never trust a coach that doesn't have a coach. Also, don't forget to subscribe to my YouTube channel because I drop videos on how to grow your business every single week.

All right. So let's say you are a coach and you want to coach others or let's say you're looking for a coach. Let's think about this for a second. If I'm saying to you, Hey, I have a solution to your problem. I can coach you on how to solve this problem, but I have never had a coach myself to help me solve my problems. How does that exactly work? Think about this, right? That's like saying, you know, I want to teach you to fly, but I've never taken flying lessons. You can't possibly ask people to pay you money to solve their problems. If you've never paid somebody to solve your problem. Because at that point you are a hypocrite. You are an absolute hypocrite. And if you go after coaches, right, and you say, Hey, I'm looking for a coach to help me with this or that.

And you ask them the question, who's your coach. If you get the response, Oh, I don't have a coach. Well, that's a red flag, because think about it. What do you mean? You don't have a coach? What could you possibly mean by that? And that means that you're not willing to invest in yourself in the, in solving your problems, but you expect me to invest in you to solve my problem too much internal conflict. It doesn't make sense. And so this is a twofold piece of advice because if you're a coach and you're trying to sell people on your coaching, and you've never hired a coach to help you with sales marketing or, or just whatever aspects of your business that you need, you are a hypocrite and you will continue to be a hypocrite. And the fact that you're basically lying to yourself as you go through your business, and as you try to build your business, you, you're never going to be able to create a great product or convince people at, at consistently at an at scale.

If you don't know what it's like to be the customer, right? Imagine that imagine if you never knew what it was like to be a customer, how could you attract the customers that you want to attract? You, you get what you are. So you ever heard that saying about, you know, you are your, your, your top five friends or, or, you know, you are the people you hang out with the most. It's absolutely true. And if you are the type of person that is not willing to invest in a coach, it's going to be very difficult for you to attract people who are willing to invest in a coach, because you're not that type of person. You guys are very different. You're, you're a, a free, a free type person or a cheap type person. You want everything for free. You don't want to invest in yourself.

You think you can find the answer on a free YouTube video or something like that. And not that, I mean, look, you're watching this on YouTube, not YouTube videos, aren't helpful, but when it comes down to it, if you've all you've done is scoured YouTube for advice. And you've never paid somebody to help you. And you expect other people to pay you. You are a hypocrite and you will fail, right? I guarantee you that you will struggle. And at the same time, if you're looking for a coach and you're you, one of the questions you should always ask is who's your coach. So for instance, if you ask me, who's my coach, I said, well, I've had several, I don't want to have one. I have several over the years, I've got I've, I've got access to and, and purchase access to multiple masterminds, including Russell Brunson, Myron golden Sam ovens.

I have literally every year I look for a new mastermind, right? I, it doesn't even matter if I don't have a specific problem in my business. One of my first that I joined was Russell's. I joined both Sam's and Myron's when I had already made multiple, multiple, multiple millions. I was already an eight-figure earner when I joined Myrons, but here's the thing. Myron has a speaker training. Now I got invited to speak at funnel hacking live, which is Russell Brunson's big annual event. I knew I was going to speak in front of 6,000 people. I knew that a lot of those people would potentially buy from me. So I knew I had to give a great speech. So I joined his speaker mastermind, and I learned how to become a better speaker. And I already spoke, I've already closed six figures from stage, but I wanted to get better.

I want it to get better. Just like, you know, a lot of people that come to me, maybe they're beginners, but maybe they already have a six or even seven-figure business. I've had people that haven't eight-figure business joined my program. I've joined people's programs that make less money than me, just because they know how to do one aspect of something that I, I think they're great at. And I want to learn more from them. And that's the thing is if you're not convinced [inaudible] investing in yourself, you're not going to attract people that will consistently invest in themselves, thus paying you to solve their problem. So, as a result of me joining Myron's a speaker mastermind, I gave a great speech at FHL. Everybody loved it. I went on to do multiple events. I did a virtual event. Few weeks ago, did a million bucks in a day.

So 34 spots to a $30,000 mastermind. Did another event sold a $10,000 offer? Did 28 sales, $280,000 in a day speaking virtually on camera, not even on a stage. And did I, it was already a decent speaker. Yes. Did I already have multiple years of marketing knowledge and, and storytelling and this yes, but did joining that additional speaker mastermind from one of the best speakers in the world, help me get a lot better. Yes, guys, you're you, you can't the car and then not maintenance car and expect the car to always run. Great. You have to continuously level up. So I'm always looking for next mastermind, the next offer. The next thing that I can get into and learn something from, you know, and sometimes that's not 30 or 50 or a hundred, our right. Maybe it's a book. Maybe it's reading a book.

Maybe it's paying somebody. I'll give you an example. A friend of mine, Molly. And I talked about this in my book digital millionaire secrets. I have a friend Molly who had a great show up rate for her high ticket sales calls. This was years ago, by the way, she had a great show up, right? And I said, Hey, will you get on a Zoom call with me and show me what you're doing? And she goes why, you know, I'm really busy. I said, I'll pay you a thousand dollars an hour. She goes, okay, paid a thousand dollars an hour, got on the call, figured out a few golden nuggets. And I've probably made an extra $2 million from that. Now you could say, Dan, you did, and this is, this will tell you what type of entrepreneur you are. There are two ways to view that you could say, Dan, you paid a thousand dollars.

And I think I might've done two hours. So it was 2000. But you could say, Dan, you paid a thousand dollars an hour to learn that you're an idiot. Or you could say, Dan, you turn two grand into 2 million. See if you answered the first way, you're probably going to be a massive failure as an entrepreneur. Definitely most certainly. But if you responded to the second way, you're likely to be successful because it's all about mindset. It's all about the lens in which you see the world. And if you see it as, so you wasted your money because you paid a thousand dollars to talk to somebody for an hour, right. Versus who cares if you talk to somebody for an hour, 10 minutes, two days a year, a freaking PDF pamphlet for two. Great. It doesn't matter what matters is the end result. That's how real, real successful entrepreneurs think.

So again, you know, think about it as if you are a coach and you don't have a coach you're a hypocrite. And if you go to hire a coach and they don't have a coach, they're hypocrite, you don't want to be a hypocrite and you don't want to work with hypocrites. So that is a core, key principle. I believe in this business in consulting and coaching and online education is never, ever worked with somebody that isn't also working with somebody else to improve them and never ever asked people to work with you if you're not actively working with others.
